Could this be the board's new mission statement?
"If you repeat a lie enough times, it will resonate."
611 days without a settlement!

We need to protect our resilience regarding the continuing onslaught of lies and the liars who tell them. What about a series of site based solidarity lunches or potlucks.....just hang out together, remind ourselves that we are in this for a reason?
We can only depend on each other. Can refreshing each other regarding the common enemy hurt?
Another literary/historical quote, this time from George Orwell, "Truth is in the eye of the beholder". I think our board and district office operate without the hinderance caused by a conscience.
I think it's sad that our lives and livelihoods are so closely intertwined with the decisions these people make. This is not a game for me, my financial and emotional well-being are at stake.
It is amazing to me how effective this strategy is. Some of my colleagues still think we are highly paid, and the community thinks we get "free" health and welfare benefits. Just perusing local salary schedules is adequate for dispelling the first myth, and the district's contribution to our H/W benefits is startlingly average when compared to local districts. If we continue to act as sheep, the district will continue to lead us into ruin. Probably every dictator in history has thought, "I can't believe the people are buying this!"
Only if by "new", you mean for the past ten years! We did not get into this predicament in one leap, it happened by tiny steps, each one of which gave up a little bit more than the last; emboldening our enemies. I'm sure the people of Germany looked back on the previous ten years in 1945 and thought, "How did this happen to us?"
As soon as this is (if??) all settled, we need to put our collective minds to the task of finding WORTHY school board members, and working for change of district administration. If there are no worthy candidates, we endorse none!
We are teachers, counselors, and school psychologists, all giving our best for the children of Yucaipa-Calimesa. We ask that we be treated fairly and professionally.

I think some site get together is a good idea. Maybe the head reps could work on that?

We are worth it. Our students are worth it.
