Will This Be Another "Snotgram" Friday?

What new misleading information will the district administration and board try and brainwash us with? They have a tendency to distribute this information late on Friday afternoons...will this be one of them?

Will they go back to the lower cost method of placing fliers in our boxes or will they choose to squander more taxpayer $$ on postage and envelopes. The one time they e-mailed their snotgram to us it backfired when countless teachers hit "reply" and responded to the e-mail. Maybe they will try something new and drop their propaganda from the sky?

I rushed home from work tonight after my husband told me on the cell phone that another snotgram awaited me. Different day, same spin. I did notice that they were sent bulk mail this time. I wonder if they are going to start pinching pennies knowing that we are getting stronger by the day and are starting to look a little more foreboding. I see our flyers made them feel a bit uncomfortable.

Got my letter in the mail, lets see that's another $58.76 on postage. Another fiscally responsible move on the DO's part. Of course they don't spend TAXPAYERS' money on such things, its just my COLA! I hope when all is said and done there will be an accurate accounting of all the unnecessary expenses they have created when a fair and equitable agreement could have been reached months ago. Has anyone calculated the interest they have accrued on the money they so gladly put aside for our salaries????

So who writes these things? They say "prepared under the direction of the YCJUSD Board of Education." If it's their lawyers, the cost is way, way more than postage. I'm sure no one in the DO has the time to write this stuff, what with their busy schedules and all. Their last letter, what with the "7%" offer for two years, did't even do the math right, as they failed to compound the salary offer (4% in 05-06 and 3% in 06-07). In a way, ALL of their budget is not local taxpayer money, right? Just another note from Fantasy Island!

A side note: I didn't see a single District Administrator or Board Member at tonight's Powder Puff game. Did anyone who was there see any of our illustrious leaders, or were they all hidden in a bunker somewhere. Must be getting pretty uncomfortable for them on our campuses to miss taking credit for the Distinguished School award publically.

I'm seething after reading the latest snotgram. They continue to deny responsibility for their own screw ups; in fact, they seem to think it was an act of genius to have built a non-operating school. I showed my "update" to family members outside the local area, and they overwhelming concensus was that the district was right in one regard--they didn't use "our" money to build Mesa View--they defrauded the state at a cost of $34 million dollars!

I'm all for supporting growth in YCJUSD, but I've got to wonder if there's another district somewhere in California that did NOT get a school built because of our greedy DO. Wouldn't it be nice if they were as proactive when it came to things like adopting social science textbooks?!

I find it beyond extremely interesting to note that I have somehow been missed in both of the last two snotgram mailings.......hmmmm........I wonder if they are targetting people who they figure are locked in, and excluding ones they think might find alternate jobs easily.......or maybe I should just count myself lucky.

I've already found alternative employment, but the last two snotgrams arrived on schedule. An old principle of bureaucracy may apply in this case: Never attribute to conspiracy that which can be explained by stupidity.
