Presenting the People Who Brought You the Settlement:

You!

What a heartwarming sight it was to walk out of the district office after 7 hours of sitting to see the hundreds of teachers, parents, and other supporters who came to the rally. Some of the negotiations team were moved to tears. It made us go back in there and continue to fight for a fair settlement.

We could never have done this without all of you.

This is the view we had out of the window after you finished your march around the district office. We found out later that the beginning of the line caught up with the end! How cool was that?!

The rally will be one not soon forgotten. We knew the negotiators were inside and we wanted to be HEARD. This culminating event was perhaps the most crucial of all the hard work we had accomplished up to then. We are all to be congratulated.
Now...how to we let the community/parents know that their efforts are not forgotten? The businesses that took a chance and posted our signs, the parents who grabbed the signs by the handful and came back for more, the parents who said they had had enough and were determined to show strong support for us all, the high school kids who drove by honking in their support and who came to the rally. We need the opportunity to say thanks in a big way. How will we do this? We will most definitely want them in our "corner" for the next round
(I shudder to think of it!) and wound be remiss to make light of the gratitude we are feeling.
Parents, community, kids...you are awesome!

I've been making a point of personally thanking every business that showed its support - we should all do this as a start! Hopefully, parents, students, businesses and yes, even teachers, will not soon forget the power we wield when we stand united. We couldn't have done it without all of you.

It was hurtful to realize we could not be heard by the Board as group of sincere, intelligent professionals. But, to have the outstanding support from the community help us through this crisis by helping us be heard and not feel completely the utter dejection caused by the Board's denial of our work was a ray of hope. May we have list of businesses to thank?

"May we have a list of businesses to thank?"
I'll start - and others need to add to this list because I know of only a couple, but I know there there were a lot more:

Las Fuentes
White Rabbit
Hair 'n' U

Who else?

I am so happy that Mitch is trying once again to leave. Maybe Fullerton hasn't heard of the failure he was here. Too bad Bonita didn't take him back.

Rosa's Beauty Shop also supported us with a sign.
