Should the Blog Continue? Sound Off!

Now that YCEA has finally reached a fair settlement with the district, has this blog served its purpose? Should it fade away into the Twilight Zone of the internet or should it remain---a sort of "virtual teachers lounge" where we can share ideas freely?

What do YOU think? Post a comment and let us know.

Absolutely YES! With the demise of inservice days (and for that matter, buyback days as well), there are precious few times we can share ideas between school sites. I think that posting anonymously is an unfortunate necessity given the vindictive nature of some administrators and board members, but at least we can speak our minds without fear of retribution. Many of us have developed a siege mentality during these past few years, maybe it's time to come out of the bunker and see what has become of the world.

The blog is good. Let's spread the word around (last rep council mtg. maybe?)to keep it. I enjoy the pictures, humor, etc.

I think this forum is something we NEED. We have experienced the high level of spin our employers are capable of spewing, and let's remember that the game is still on.

I'm sure that the board and district expect us all to "play nice" right away again, but I hope that mine are not the only eyes opened by the experience of the past two years.

The district has successfully used a divide and conquer approach with us all in the past (elementary vs. secondary, YHS vs. YHS-9, and on and on), and this is one way to take that edge away from them.

I agree. This has been a place to vent and hear from others. We are no longer the little school district east of Redlands. We don't get to connect with our colleagues and hear their successes and struggles. This is a great place to do that. Keep it going!
