T.A. Reached!
We've received word from the YCEA Negotiations Team that a T.A. was signed at approximately 2:15 A.M. this morning. We don't know any details about it yet but we're assured that all members will be presented with a complete explanation at a General Membership meeting next week.

YEAH !!!! Thank you YCEA Negotiating Team for your hard work and commitment to OUR School District.
I am so glad this is finally over! Now we can get back into the business of being a team-Administrators, teachers and parents. Teachers-i hope you have a wonderful summer and am so glad you got a good contract! Board-thank you for finally listening to us parents to get the teachers fair compensation.
I found all the police at the school district office on thurday afternoon truly wild. About 8 policemen and 2 motorcycle officers. The DO must really feel that teachers in Yucaipa are wild and unruly. REall over kill. I fouind it rather funny.
I continue to be skeptical and frustrated with the news of today. You say we have reach some sort of tentative agreement and the district acts like we are all going to agree and accept it! Yet, we don't even know what it is. Why are we celebrating when we don't even know what offer has been submitted? Who agreed to keeping the offer concealed until Tuesday? Don't we, as union members, have the right to know the outcome of the Fact-Finding results? It doesn't seem very fair to have us wait until Tuesday to find out the details and then vote on it without having time to consider it. This isn't the first time we have been promised a good settlement and after reviewing it, voted it down. And why is it a secret?? We are paid union members. Even if it is tentative?? WHAT ARE THE DETAILS? I don't place trust in the D.O. anymore and it seems like they are finally worried about losing some money over the parent/student led sick-out day. Is this just another one of their manipulations to postpone reaching a fair settlement? It seems like the district has won all along... they've earned interest on the state money for the past 638 days, they have publicly twisted the facts about our ongoing bargaining, used public funds to send newsletters, and the public doesn't know what to think. Today, they are frantically sending out messages to all students/parents of the district reassuring them we have reach a fair settlement and asking them to send their kids to school on Monday, before we even know what it is! I realize our negotiation team and crisis teams have worked unbelievably hard to get us a fair settlement, but all union memebers are entitled to know the details before it's assumed by the district office to be a DONE DEAL! Many parents of our district have stood behind us in out struggle and as far as I'm concerned, unless I know the details of the offer, I intend to support the sick out on Monday.
Thanks to all of you who worked so hard for this, especially from those of us who were maybe not as actively involved for various reasons, but were supporting you 100% in your efforts. Your work is truly appreciated and hopefully we can move on from here in positive way.
We are teachers, counselors, and school psychologists, all giving our best for the children of Yucaipa-Calimesa. We ask that we be treated fairly and professionally.

Dear Cynid
good statement - it does take time to get "stuff ready" People - paid and unpaid - volunteers - do need time to sleep and rest too.
