Ted's been going on about how growth this year isn’t turning out to be what he projected it would be. If that’s the case, do we really need another school?

I have a suggestion for the board: make sure that the school has a road before it has a name. You'd think with a "civil" engineer on the board this wouldn't have been a problem at Mesa View.

How about the Mitch Hovey Remedial Curriculum Distribution Center and Sports Complex?

Regardless of what it is named, there will probably be a lawsuit filed by someone who doesn't like the name.

How about "Patty Leja/Moore/Ingram New Teacher Training Center"?

The Yucaipa/Calimesa Educational Data Collection Site #8. Sounds like something an engineer wouuld write.

Is this the site of the orange grove's old kerosene dump? Hope the district checks for soil contamination before they buy the land. Also, there is a lot of earthquake faulting along the front of the Crafton Hills, hope they do some trenching to look for those too!

Isn't it time we stop naming our schools like housing tracts and honor those who have devoted their lifetime to making Yucaipa kids successful....like Cramer Elementary?

This would be a very "pro-teacher" move by the bunch at 3rd St., doncha think?

Cramer ES is a great suggestion. Mrs. Cramer was a dedicated eductor, hard working teacher and AD. The district is running out of geographical names for schools.

My vote is for:
Escombreras Elementary School

If you don't know Spanish, I suggest you look up the meaning of Escombreras :)

Doesn't "Escombreras" mean toxic waste dump?
