Here's another category in which we are #1: District Administrator Retention. It would seem that our DO is a "roach motel" where administrators can get in, but they can't get out! Despite Mitch and Sherry's well-known efforts to obtain other employment, they're still here. What sort of school district would look at the "accomplishments" of the YCJUSD and think, "Gee, I'd like to bring that sort of talent and vision here". Looks like we're stuck with them. But, even if they leave, who could the current board attract to take their places?
Two simple questions:
1.) How many districts in our area have had to wait two years for a fair settlement?
2.) How many districts pay better than us?
Answers:
1.) None
2.) All

Roach motel....very clever! I agree that it is interesting that Mitch and Sherry can't seem to find jobs, but YCJUSD teachers can. Would seem to indicate that other districts seem to have an accurate perspective on the location of the true talent in this district. Delocalized talent, centralized mismanagement
I can't believe anybody would compare district office administrators to cockroaches. Cockroaches serve a a useful purpose helping to recycle plant and animal waste. What purpose do some of the many directors and assist. supt. positions serve?
