I would love to know the specifics of exactly how a school was built without a road. Seems to me that someone, somewhere made some very poor decisions about how to spend millions of taxpayer dollars. We might ask our board to do this, or we might ask the State to ask our board. With one of our board members being a Civil Engineer, I would be very interested in seeing whether there was a conflict of interest or cronyism during the decision making process. The only other instance I know of a school not opening for this long was in LA, and heads rolled for that one!
Another great spin idea for the Board. Let's just pretend that the lack of a road is a positive! By requiring students to walk two miles a day to get to and from school, we are doing our part to reduce childhood obesity. The Board might even claim that they are "Going Green" by encouraging the use of alternative transportation. Seems as logical as the rest of their tripe!
Dr. Spinmaster has a point. Maybe building a school without a road is a cost saving mesaure for the district. If the children have to walk two miles through rugged terrain to get to school there's no need for PE teachers at Mesa View. That should save the district around $200,000 per year.
We are teachers, counselors, and school psychologists, all giving our best for the children of Yucaipa-Calimesa. We ask that we be treated fairly and professionally.

Maybe we could dig a tunnel, or use helicopters. Catapaults might be a nice way to access the site for the next board visit.
LOLOL@catapult....you know, that solution might solve more than one of our problems!

I think that we ought to rename this school the Mitch Hovey Education Center. C'mon, let's give credit where credit is due!
